Description

Nestling in picturesque countryside on the North Cornwall and Devon border, Well Farm Cottages offer a tranquil base for family or friends looking to enjoy the many attractions this beautiful area has to offer. The five self-catering holiday cottages, Millers Rest, Trewin Court, Cider Cottage, Well Farmhouse and Well Farm Cottage all provide spacious comfortable accommodation, and can be booked individually or, if required, jointly for larger groups. Set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, visitors can stroll down to the river which borders the farm, to enjoy a picnic or fly fish for trout, take the opportunity to meet the chickens and check for eggs or explore outstanding countryside through the numerous walks and trails.

The spectacular coastline and award winning beaches of Bude and Crackington Haven are just a winding 15 minute drive away, while enthusiastic foodies will seek out the many local producers and eateries in the bustling market towns and villages of the North Cornwall Coast. Organic produce is available in specialist delicatessen cafes and shops in Tintagel and of course Padstow. Just as easy to get to is Port Isaac, of Doc Martin fame, and the world renowned Eden Project near St Austell. For the active visitor there is a wealth of choice close by, from surfing at Widemouth Bay, canoeing along the Bude Canal, golf at numerous courses and sea fishing from the unique and famous Clovelly village. Well Farm Cottages in Cornwall are perfect for visitors looking for somewhere a little of the beaten track but conveniently located for a great West Country holiday.

Well Farmhouse is ideally suited to families and is the largest of the five farm cottages set in an attractive courtyard setting. Modestly, yet attractively furnished the thick stone walls of the old farmhouse keep the warmth in during the cooler months and the heat out in the summer. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms and a charming lounge with beamed ceiling and an open feature fireplace (logs available locally). The large, traditional kitchen/diner is well-equipped and has a feature window seat. Outside a fully enclosed garden area has a picnic table, bench and barbecue. There is a shared activity play area with climbing frame, slide and swings and fishing available in the nearby River Tamar.

Reviews

We had a brilliant week staying in the Farmhouse. We were made to feel extremely welcomed by Clare and her lovely family. A fantastic cottage which had everything we needed and more. The kids adored being able to visit the pigs and piglets each day and help.
