Description

Almost every room in this modern detached holiday home has sea views over Croyde Bay and out towards Baggy Point and Lundy Island. Approached via a narrow, leafy lane, Distant Point is just a short downhill walk from the centre of Croyde with its variety of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. Access to the fantastic surfing beach is approx. 10 minutes from the village via a footpath.  There is also a carpark on the approach to the village opposite the beach entrance.

Sleeping four people and one dog, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a really sociable, spacious area. French doors lead out from the lounge into a large decked terrace with outside furniture and barbecue which is perfect for al-fresco dining at the end of an activity-filled day on the beach. The kitchen has modern units, wooden floor and large dining table where everyone can enjoy mealtimes together.  The master bedroom, which is off the living room, has dual aspect windows with stunning sea views. A small inner hallway leads to the family bathroom and pretty twin bedded room. Distant Point is just a few mintues’ walk away from the centre of Croyde - famed for having one of the finest surf beaches in the world, with high profile surfer’s regularly visiting to catch some waves. The record holder for the biggest wave ever surfed, Andrew Cotton, is a regular visitor, and professional surfer Lyndon Wake also runs a surf school down by the entrance to the beach where surf lessons are readily available for beginners and can be booked in advance or on the day. For experienced surfers, just grab your board and hit the waves. A lifeguard will be on patrol between May and September to ensure water safety is adhered to. There are a variety of water sports that can be experienced and at either end of the beach you will also find little rock pools, always popular with young families. Here kids can splash around to their hearts content, and create lasting memories of North Devon. To the far side of the beach the headland of Baggy Point is owned by The National Trust and provides an exhilarating backdrop with pathways for walking.
