Description

Lobsters Loft is a perfectly located holiday home close to all village amenities and being on the 2nd floor enjoys delightful views across the estuary.

One of only two apartments in this sympathetically restored, character building(with tea rooms and delicatessen on the ground floor), access is via the shared original steep and winding staircase, leading up to the private apartment entrance on the 2nd floor.  On entering the property you will be pleasantly surprised by the light, spacious environment which greets you.  Large windows throughout create a fresh, airy ambiance as well as wonderful views of estuary life just a stone’s throw away. The living, kitchen, dining areas are arranged in an open plan style which creates a large social space where everyone can enjoy being together either during food preparation, recounting the day’s activities over enjoyable family meals or simply relaxing and taking in the view. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of work space as well as incorporating a convenient breakfast bar seating area. There is an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge, freezer and a separate utility cupboard houses the washing machine.

Two spacious bedrooms – both with TV and en-suite facilities provide flexible sleeping arrangements.  A king room situated at the front of the property has fine estuary views and whilst a twin bedded room – with zip ‘n’ link facility to create a super-king is at the rear of the property and has views overlooking the original brightly coloured fishermen’s cottages which are a feature of this quaint village.  Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with bath, shower over bath and separate walk-in shower, WC and basin.  There is also a separate cloakroom with WC and basin.

Explore the narrow streets with pretty painted cottages, crafts shops, tea rooms and art galleries or take a stroll along the quay to see the fishing boats or watch water sport enthusiasts bobbing about in boats, yachts or mastering the art of kite surfing.  If you have walked up an appetite there are plenty of family friend pubs and restaurants nearby serving delicious home cooked food.  On fine summer Monday evenings the local brass band play alfresco on the harbour and during the daytime a small passenger ferry operates across to Instow where a further choice of family friendly eateries, a second award winning delicatessen and also a sandy, estuary beach await.  If surfing is your thing then look no further than the Blue Flag beach of Westward Ho! a few minutes’ drive away. A little further along the Atlantic Highway you will find the Big Sheep and The Milky Way, both are great for family entertainment.  There is something for everyone in this beautiful part of the country and Lobsters Loft is a wonderful place to start.
